Grasse, the world capital of perfume

How a town in the hills above Nice became the birthplace of modern perfumery.
Set in the hills behind Nice, Grasse has been known since the sixteenth century as the world capital of perfume. Its remarkable climate and its inherited craft made it the birthplace of modern perfumery.
A terroir of its own
The microclimate of Grasse, between sea and mountains, is ideal for growing flowers. May rose, jasmine, lavender and, of course, orange blossom all find here what they need to develop their most subtle aromas.
A recognised heritage
In 2018 the perfume-related skills of the Pays de Grasse were inscribed on UNESCO's list of intangible cultural heritage — international recognition of how much these traditions deserve to be preserved.
Our part in it
Au Pays de la Fleur d'Oranger belongs to that long line of excellence. Each creation pays tribute to our land and to a craft handed down from one generation to the next.
